COVID-19: Precautions to be taken by Doctors when they return from Hospital

The Novel Coronavirus has been stated as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). This global outbreak has inflicted mayhem in the world. Due to this outbreak, everyone is restricted to their home.

People are continuously provided guidelines on necessary precautions by the WHO and their governments to follow strict lockdown and adopt hygiene measures. But in this time of havoc, doctors and healthcare workers are serving the Coronavirus suffering patients.

Covid 19The situation of the doctors and nurses is very tough. They will have to stay away from their family members after treating the patients. This virus is so deadly that it can easily transmit from one person to another. So, these doctors and healthcare workers fighting the COVID 19 are afraid that their loved may get infected.

Here is a list of precautions against COVID 19 that doctors need to follow:-

Sanitize Hands 

The doctors curing coronavirus patients must take out their medical suit and put it aside in a closed bin to wash it properly. Then, properly sanitize your hands with an alcohol-based sanitizer or with soap and water for 20 seconds.

All other members must sanitize or clean their hands properly with soap and water or sanitizer to prevent this disease.

Take Bath

After cleaning the hands, have a proper bath with warm water to prevent Coronavirus.

Keep Distance

Even after taking a bath and sanitizing, keep a distance from loved members and pets at home. Keep at least 6 feet or 2 meters distance with other members.

Wear Mask

Doctors and health care workers should wear a mask (if available) while at their home to protect their family and oneself. While coughing or sneezing, use a tissue paper and dispose of it in a closed bin.

Stay in Separate Room and Bathroom

If it is possible, doctors must stay in a separate bedroom away from their family members. They must even use a separate bathroom.

Use Separate Eating Utensils   

It is important for doctors who are treating COVID-19 patients to use separate eating utensils, glasses, dishes, and cups. Avoid using those with their family members. Once used, utensils must be washed properly in a dishwasher or washed with hands with hot water.

Use Separate Towels and Beddings

The doctors and other medical staff must use separate bedding and towel. They must not share these with other household members. It is important to wash your towels, beddings, clothes with detergent and hot water. Wear gloves while doing laundry.

Good Air Flow in Home

Doctors need to have good airflow in their homes. Simply open a window or turn on an air conditioner or air filter for good air.

Prohibit Visitors

Doctors at work must not allow visitors into their home including adults and children.

Clean Surfaces or Objects

It is essential to use a household cleaner to clean surfaces and objects like doorknobs, remote controls, phones, sink handles, light switches, toys, and counters.

Thus, these are the precautionary measures that doctors must stick to prevent Coronavirus from entering their homes.
